According to a Regulating Council press release, RCDO Vinos de Madrid harvest this year will be somewhere around 22 to 23 million kilos, representing a 20 percent drop on normal harvest figures.
The governing body specified that there was a delay in the start of the harvest compared to other years, of between 7 and 15 days, depending on the variety and region. In 2007 the appellation started harvesting on 21st August.
