Nestling in the heart of the Island's countryside, Youngwoods Farm has a character all of its own.
Ideally situated between the tranquility of Newtown nature reserve, Cowes yachting centre and the shops at Newport, Peter and Judith invite you to enjoy the peace of their home and garden where butterflies, wild flowers and the resident barn owl may be found.
A wonderful base for artists, bird watchers, cyclists and walkers alike.
From the garden, seemingly fixed in a time when life was lived at a steadier pace, there are commanding views over meadows and ancient oak trees to the downs, the West Wight and the distant Solent.
The same view on a fine evening at sunset is a moment to be captured in the memory.
The Island stone farmhouse was first mentioned in records in the Thirteenth Century when the area was all forested, and was rebuilt in the Eighteenth Century. Apart from the essential modern conveniences and central heating, it retains all the pleasant feeling and mood of that period.
Our two twin or double bedrooms have large windows overlooking the same magnificent view of the downs. One of these rooms is en suite. There is also a single bedroom available. All the bedrooms are equipped with hand wash basins, radios and tea making facilities. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are available on request. The guest bathroom has a full size bath and walk-in shower and the hot water is boosted by solar heating.
Breakfast is served in the old dairy with its cheese shelf hanging from the ceiling. Excellent food can be enjoyed in an abundance of good pubs and restaurants within five miles.
Chickens and sheep are kept around the farmhouse, barns and fields. One barn is available for camping.
We can provide stabling for guests' horses if required; the Island has many miles of wonderful bridle paths.
