Accommodation Details

Polhilsa Farm is a 350 acre working arable farm offering bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation; weddings and special occasions; conference and meeting facilities in a range of attractively converted barns.

Polhilsa is just a few miles from the Devon/ Cornwall border making both counties accessible to visitors. Within a short drive, guests can explore Dartmoor or Bodmin Moor - both areas of outstanding natural beauty and offering some of the most breathtaking views. Centrally situated between North and South coasts, Polhilsa provides an excellent base for viewing the rugged North Cornish coastline or the quaint fishing villages of the South Coast. Guests often make their selection of beach on a daily basis according to the weather!

The market towns of Callington, Liskeard, Launceston and Tavistock are all close by as is Plymouth with its barbican and hoe, both steeped with history. Several National Trust properties and beautiful Gardens may be toured in Devon and Cornwall. Should the weather prove unkind, a variety of indoor attractions are located in the area. Polhilsa is also well situated for a several Golf Clubs in particular the internationally renowned St. Mellion International which is a mere 10 minute drive away.

Offering a variety of Bed and Breakfast and self catering accommodation, Polhilsa is able to meet the majority of peoples needs. Self catering accommodation ranges from 2 to 8 person occupancy. Quality graded en-suite Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available in the form of four individual rooms based within a converted barn. All rooms are equipped and furnished to a high specification and each room is able to accommodate either 3 or 4 persons thus making a variety of occupancy combinations available! Although not graded, further rooms are also available in the original farmhouse. These have shared bathroom facilities and often prove ideal for the larger family - please enquire direct if you would like further information regarding this specific accommodation. Self catering and Bed and Breakfast accommodation can also be mixed thus providing an ideal base for the gathering of extended families and larger groups.

Polhilsa is also a beautiful, relaxing venue with magnificent views for weddings and special occasions. The smaller intimate gathering can be catered for in the barn's function room. A marquee is available for slightly larger occasions or alternatively, guests can use the garden area at Polhilsa and hire in their own marquee. Stunning views over the fishing lakes and beyond to the rolling hills of the Cornish countryside provide a beautiful backdrop for an unforgettable occasion. With no formal packages to choose from, you are able to plan your wedding or special occasion to your precise requirements with as much or as little assistance from us as required. Obviously subject to availability, self catering and bed and breakfast accommodation may be reserved for guests attending weddings and special occasions at Polhilsa, thus allowing many of your guests to remain on site throughout and beyond the celebrations.

The warm, inviting Hospitality Suite at Polhilsa provides a unique rural environment for conferences and meetings. Once again, we have no formal structures allowing the conference or meeting to be tailored to fit concisely with your individual requirements.
Further information about all the hospitality provisions at Polhilsa is available throughout this Website. Alternatively, e-mail or call to discuss your individual requirements.
