Langaton Alpacas

Located in the beautiful rolling North Devon countryside, Lower Langaton Farm has been in the Waldron family for over 100 years and is currently farmed by Ian and Rachel, assisted by our daughters.

Langaton supported a successful dairy unit of 105 Friesian cattle until 1996 when the decision was made to diversify into the alpaca business – initially with 2 pregnant females. The dairy herd was dispersed in 1999 and further alpaca purchases were made and combined with breeding the herd grew to approximately 250 Alpacas (approximately 85% Huacayas and 15% Suris).

We selectively bred alpacas for good conformation and fleece quality and were one of the leading herds in the United Kingdom illustrated by outstanding results in the showring and priding ourselves in providing an honest, no-nonsense and reliable service.
