A last call for entries for the 2017 RABDF Dairy Student Award has been issued ahead of the deadline of 3 March.
The competition carries a prize of £1,000 for the winner and has secured sponsorship from Mole Valley Farmers this year.
Emily Egan from the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF), which has run the competition since 1991, says the award has become highly regarded within the length and breadth of the UK industry.
“The competition is renowned for attracting high quality applicants who are looking to move upwards on the career ladder,” she says.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for students at agricultural colleges and universities across the country to compete with their peers – and maybe reach the final round interview where they will go head to head at The Farmers Club in London.”
New flair of talent
Andrew Jackson, chief executive of Mole Valley Farmers, says his team are delighted to be encouraging and supporting the emergence of new flair within the industry.
“Talented leadership will be a prerequisite if the UK industry is to become globally competitive. Finding and nurturing new students with the aptitude and aspiration to be future leaders is a cause worth supporting,” he explains.
