Noble Foods’ agricultural director Tom Willings has confirmed that he is leaving the company.

Tom, who has been director of agriculture with Noble, the country’s biggest egg company, since November 2010, has told the Ranger that he is giving up his role with the company to become an independent consultant. He will act as consultant both to Noble Foods and to other clients.

In his role at Noble, Tom has been responsible for dealing with nearly 300 contracted farms nationwide. He has also been responsible for the operation of the company’s own farms - some 35 in total, including rearing, organic, free range and colony production sites. He also worked with Noble’s retail customers on projects seeking to differentiate and add value to eggs.

Before joining Noble Foods, Tom spent 11 years with the Mavuno Group, the world’s leading integrated cut flower company, which supplies retail, wholesale and direct markets in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. When he left Mavuno he was group supply chain director. He was responsible for managing the supply chain, including a global network of growers, as well as suppliers of air, road and sea logistics. He also provided specialist support to the international customer base.

Tom lives in Hampshire with his wife and their two young sons.
