A man has been seriously injured after his tractor steered off the road and crashed into a ditch in Cambridgeshire.

The incident happened at 3:47pm on Thursday afternoon (27th September) in the Fenland town of March.

Magpas Air Ambulance, which predominately serves the East of England, were called to attend the scene.

The man, in his 50s, was seriously injured when the tractor he was travelling in left the road and entered a ditch.

The medical team assessed the man, who had sustained chest and abdominal injuries.

He was then airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital, where he was in a serious condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

The incident follows news of a North Yorkshire man suffering severe injuries after his arm became stuck in a grain auger on a farm on Sunday 23 September.
