North Wales Rural Police have took to Twitter to issue out a plea to find those responsible for a vicious attack on a cow.

A cow was discovered with a crossbow bolt embedded in its face just above the nose in Llanfairpwll on Anglesey yesterday (5 July).

The police tweeted: "Do you live in the Llanfair PG area? Do you have information on this shocking Crime? Call 101 and quote V100173. We need your help now."

"At what point does a person think 'I'll shoot a cow in the face with my crossbow today'.. this person needs catching and catching soon."

It is understood the six-inch bolt has been removed from the cow’s face and has not caused any serious injuries.

Police have taken DNA from the bolt in a bid to track the offenders.

It comes as news that lambs were killed and had their ears cut off in a bizarre attack on a Co Down farm, Northern Ireland this week.
