Criminals steal cattle worth £16,000 in Derbyshire

Criminals have stolen cattle worth around £16,000 on a farm in Derbyshire.

The theft occurred sometime between 1500 hours on Friday 31st March 2017 and 0700 the following day, Saturday 1st April 2017.

The cattle were stolen from farm buildings off of Moor Lane in Youlgrave.

The cattle are as follows:

• Three Blonde D’Aquitaine Cows (chocolate brown and light tan)

• One Bazaldaise cow

• Two Pedigree Limousin Cows (red)

• Two Limousin Cow (1 red, 1 black)

Sandra Wood, partner of farmer Jonathan Hall, said each of the cows stolen from their land was worth around £2,000 and seven of them were pregnant.

She said: "It's not just the loss of the cow, it's the loss of calf too.

"These people haven't just taken the first cattle which came to the door, they have been and picked what they fancied....our best cattle."
