Dragons’ Den hopeful looks for other colour coded cracking egg contracts

Rob Shaw was unable to persuade the entrepreneurs on BBC’s Dragons’ Den to invest in his colour coated hard boiled eggs, but he has already clinched one significant contract and he is hoping there will be more in the future.

Rob’s Crackin’ Egg Company is marketing its colour coated eggs as the latest snack food, although FarmingUK TV has, so far, been unable to buy any. The eggs are on the online store’s listings but, after placing our order and shortly before delivery, we received a phone call to say the eggs were not in stock. Rob couldn’t bring any with him for our interview.

The hard boiled eggs are sealed with the coloured coating to keep them fresher for longer. They are sold with a choice of side dressings for extra flavour.

Rob is committed to free range eggs and believes that Crackin’ Eggs could create a new market for egg producers if they take off.

He spoke to FarmingUK TV to explain his idea, how it came to be and how his well publicised dressing down by the Dragons has actually helped his business.
