Exhibitors flock to Kent for Agri-Expo 2012

Agri-Expo (SE) 2012, one of the South East’s biggest agricultural machinery shows, has seen a 40% increase in exhibitors on last year.

More than 150 exhibitors, ranging from heavy duty agricultural machinery suppliers to rural service specialists attended the event at the Kent Showground, Detling, near Maidstone, with many reporting strong sales.

About 3,000 visitors flocked to the showground for the March 1 show, following the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Harry Cotterell, president of the Country Land & Business Association officially opened Agri-Expo and congratulated organisers for establishing a first-rate event, which had swiftly become an essential entry in the farming calendar.

George Jessel, chairman of Kent County Agricultural Society which is the event’s main supporter, said the show’s popularity with traders and visitors indicated ongoing business confidence within the agricultural industry.

Agri-Expo (SE) is organised by Ramsak, a farming and rural co-operative, in conjunction with Kent Showground.

Companies from across the UK brought an impressive array of agricultural machinery, from tractors and high-accuracy spreaders to vans and diesel tanks, all set out on the showground, while the Kent Pavilion hosted an equally wide range of rural services, including mortgage specialists, renewable energy experts, wildlife consultants and fencing firms.
