A farm project aiming to help veterans suffering from combat trauma have decided to sell two pedigree jersey cows to raise money for their cause.

The Veterans Farm-Fable Project, based at the Darlington Hall Estate in Devon, was started to raise money for veterans and emergency service personnel to help them recover from trauma related conditions.

The group said they will be selling the cows which won several classes at the Devon County and Royal Bath & West Shows.

'Outcome has been outstanding'

Penny Connorton, who founded the project, said: "We have organised and run over 125 experience days and have involved over 60 veterans since the project started.

"We have also offered retreat weekends where families can get involved and experience a quiet weekend in the wonderful setting of Dartington Hall Estate.

"Our outcomes have been outstanding even to the extent that we have reunited families who have been previously separated.

"We have testimonials from participants stating how enrolling with our organisation has effected their life for the better, building self-confidence and greatly increasing self-esteem.

"We fully intent to expand our organisation by adding like-minded partners that will enable us to offer more services and experiences."
