A farmer has put his £1.3million farm on the market for just £50 a ticket as part of a raffle.

He’s struggled to sell the £1.3m farm, so it is now hoped it will sell and “change someone’s life for £50.”

Mr Bennett is looking to sell 28,000 tickets by the time the raffle closes in March 2018.

The property includes an ‘enormous three-bedroom stone farmhouse’, eight stables, 18.6 acres of land, a tack room, feed room, six-car garage, barn and workshop.

In order to win, entrants must be able to answer one question - ‘which town on the North-east coast has the last remaining pier in Yorkshire?’

The competition has aleady received interest from Hong Kong, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

The winner will be decided by a random number generator.

The competition's website states: "Barns Farm has from every window either a country or coastal view, the coastal far reaching views to Northumberland on a clear day. Saltburn, a Victorian town once famous for smuggling, is home of the famous cliff lift."
