A farmer is to run the London Marathon dressed as a tractor to raise around £5,000 for an air ambulance charity.

Lincolnshire Farmer Craig Williamson will run the 26.2 mile race in aid of the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

Mr Williamson participated in the race last year, but this year he will dress himself as a tractor.

He is hoping to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest time dressed as a heavy good vehicle.

In order to achieve his goal, he will have to complete the race in less than 4 hours and 55 minutes.

Last year, the farmer participated the London Marathon, and completed it in just under 3 hours and 49 minutes.

He raised £5,074.89 for charity, which has helped fund at least two potentially life-saving missions for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

A 28-year-old woman who has close ties to the agricultural industry is also running the London Marathon to raise funds for farmers in need.

Annabel James is running the London Marathon for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), who support the farmers in their times of need.

She said the support they offer vulnerable farmers is "vital".

The date of the next London Marathon is Sunday 22 April 2018.
