Hybu Cig Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) - will be highlighting the importance of good grassland management and production at the Royal Welsh Grassland Event this week.

As one of the major sponsors, HCC will be at the Rhug Estate, Corwen tomorrow (Thursday 9 June) for the practical event aimed at farmers, contractors and the rural public.

Visitors to the HCC stand can collect the newly published handbook, Recommended Grass and Clover Lists for England and Wales.

Thisgrass seed industry reference list can help farmers achieve better yields, greater competitiveness and improve profitability.

A bulging bag of grass seed that features varieties included in the Recommended List will also be up for grabs.

For a chance to enter HCC’s prize draw, the productivity of two different grass swards can be scrutinised to estimate the number of lambs that can be finished on both.

The winner will be announced by HCC at 4pm on the day of the event.

A wealth of information and handy HCC publications will also be free to collect from the event.

"We look forward to supporting the Grassland Event and distributing useful and practical advice to boost the productivity of red meat in Wales."

Other attractions will include working machinery demonstrations, forage trial plots and numerous grassland and livestock trade stands and suppliers.
