A man wishes to "bring joy" to his grandfather's life, who has recently battled cancer, by raising funds to purchase him his favourite tractor.

Aaron Vallis wishes to buy his grandfather, who has recently battled cancer and is now suffering from depression, a tractor to "bring joy" back into his life.

Mr Vallis, who lives in Amesbury, Wiltshire, says his grandfather has shown interest in a David Brown 1200 tractor, and purchasing one would get him "outside and active".

He is currently not aware of the fund-raising campaign, and the purchase will be a surprise.

Mr Vallis said: "After coming over cancer, my family and I have noticed my grandad to just not be himself, I wish to bring some joy back into his life.

"He has forever been interested in tractors and I wish to buy himself one. Ambitious, but doable, I wish to purchase a David Brown 1200 a tractor he has shown interest in.

"Restoring this tractor will not only help my grandad but also help myself, having been cooped up inside my room suffering from depression.

"I simply do not have the funds, myself being a student, to buy such a wonderful piece of equipment."

Mr Vallis said he knows the farming community is currently experiencing financial troubles, but with a bit of help it will achieve his grandfather's dream.
