Farmers, contractors and tractor drivers who want to get their children on a McCormick at the earliest opportunity can now add a new version of the X7.680 Pro Drive to their fleet.

While the full-size machine has a semi-powershift transmission and a six-cylinder engine with up to 212hp for tackling powered cultivations work and road haulage, the new addition has ‘single kiddie’ power and a variable speed transmission – the rider’s legs working the pedals!

In other respects, the new Falk ride-on model designed for three- to seven-year-olds is a remarkably authentic reproduction of the real tractor. The new-look styling of the modern McCormick is faithfully reproduced in the hood shape and decals, while the distinctive triple work light clusters on the full-size McCormick’s Premiere cab are represented on the front of the model’s roll bar.

Nicely executed mouldings on the dark grey chassis represent the engine and ancillaries, and a full set of ballast weights is evident beneath the silver grille.

The pedal tractor comes as standard with a two-wheel trailer for transporting light items and there is also a ‘handling’ version with the trailer and a double-handled loader with tipping bucket.

McCormick X4 Series model

Model collectors will be impressed by one of the latest releases from Universal Hobbies – a 1/32 scale reproduction of the McCormick X4.70 tractor.

With 107hp from a compact Deutz engine, the real machine is one of three newcomers from McCormick manufacturer Argo Tractors that covers a host of applications from groundscare to livestock farming.

The cab is a real attraction, being spacious but well proportioned, and featuring a slim roof panel that keeps overall height to a minimum without making the cab interior feel confined.

In fact, the large windscreen, rear window and full-size doors both sides make the four-post cab a light and airy place to work, with controls laid out logically and at an angle that makes them easy and comfortable to use.

These features are faithfully represented on the new model version, right down to the orange-coloured shuttle lever on the dashboard, the fender-mounted hitch switches, and the amber turn indicators and roof beacons.

Measuring 13cm long, just 7cm wide and 8.6cm high, the McCormick X4.70 available from McCormick dealers makes a stylish addition to any model collection.
