A 2016 renewable energy calendar, aimed at raising money for the charity Forage Aid, is being launched by the Energy Now Expo team.
After successfully raising over £22,000 for Forage Aid at the 2015 event, by running a charity drive from Sedgemore, Somerset, to the Telford International Centre, where the Energy Now Expo takes place, the event is once again teaming up with the charity to help to support farmers in need.
The calendar will feature breath-taking images from each renewable energy type, highlighting the integration of renewables into the agricultural and rural sectors, and also feature key agricultural and renewable energy events and dates throughout the year.
All proceeds will go to the Forage Aid charity, founded by Lincolnshire farmer, Andrew Ward in 2013, in response to the terrible snow that affected livestock farmers in Cumbria and Wales.
“Forage Aid is not just about providing feed for stock,” explains Andrew.
“The link with the Energy Now Expo is an obvious one, with producers looking at how to weatherproof their units, to help safeguard their businesses in the future, especially in times of crisis, and looking for reliable new income streams. We’re delighted by the continued support that Energy Now Expo offers us, and we hope the calendar is popular with farmers,” he says.
David Jacobmeyer, Energy Now Expo director, is pleased to be working with the charity for a second year. “There’s a definite need for more fund-raising that will put money in the bank for Forage Aid. We’ve supported the team during last year’s event, and are delighted with this new partnership. By launching initiatives such as the calendar we are aiming to start something very exciting that will really support farmers in the future.”
