Police are appealing for witnesses and information after 14 sheep died near Huttons Ambo, North Yorkshire.

It is believed the sheep, 11 ewes and three lambs, died after being chased around their field by dogs.

They were found dead on Thursday last week (8 June) after being reported as 'fine' at 6.30am the previous day.

The dog had caused the sheep to become distressed and run into boundary fences.

North Yorkshire police said anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact them.

Recently, a lamb lost its ear due to a dog attack in the Pentland hills in Edinburgh, and 16 sheep were attacked by out of control dog in Suffolk.
