A police investigation has been launched in Somerset after a sample of bull semen was stolen from a farm.

Avon and Somerset Police are investigating the unusual incident, which happened between December 30 and 31.

The criminals broke into a farm in Cossington, north of Bridgwater and stole the cattle semen.

The police force tweeted: "Farm watch alert:- unusual theft. Between Dec 30-31 artificial insemination cattle semen was stolen from a farm in Bell Lane, Cossington, Somerset.
