Sheep have been killed by a dog attack in front of terrified schoolchildren and teachers in Devon.

Police are now hunting for the dog owners, with the dogs being described as husky type hounds.

They said the two dogs attacked the sheep as a school party watched on in horror.

The incident happened at the adventure centre outside Dewerstone Cottage at Goodameavy in Devon on Saturday (September 30) at approximately 4.35pm.

The dog owners appeared around five minutes after the incident and called their dogs away.

However, police have been told they did not apologise or leave their details with the teachers, the Plymouth Herald reports.

The witnesses said the owners had another two husky-type dogs with them.

A police spokesman said: “This was a savage and horrific attack from which the sheep died, and this shook the children and teachers.”
