Tenants’ issues to the fore at derbyshire open meeting

Derbyshire tenant farmers will have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of current issues at an open meeting on 10 May at The Bluebell Inn, Tissington, from 7.00pm

The meeting, organised by the NFU's regional tenants' forum will hear from three speakers:

Neil Bland, a local valuer and land agent will discuss rents and local market conditions and the outcomes from the Tenancy Reform Industry Group.

Robert Sheasby, NFU's national tenants' adviser will update the meeting on the NFU's work at national level on tenants' issues

And Jonathan Marsden, head of the Natural England Farm Advice Unit in the East Midlands will talk about the future for agriculture in Derbyshire.

Chairman of the regional tenants' forum, Bill Dilks said: "Derbyshire, the East Midlands' most tenanted county, has regular NFU meetings on tenants' issues. At this meeting, the three speakers will provide an important opportunity to discuss the key issues for the sector. I would urge all tenants to come and take part."

The meeting starts at 8.00pm but supper will be available from 7.00pm, kindly sponsored by the Derbyshire Farmers Management Committee. All are welcome to attend.
