Three sheep have been attacked and killed in Ballyholland, County Down, and now police are investigating the third such attack on sheep in the area.

Farmer Gerard Travers spoke to UTV about finding three of his sheep dead in a ditch with stab wounds on Friday night (7 July).

And on 4 - 5 July, it was reported that lambs were killed and had their ears cut off in a bizarre attack in the same area.

On 22 June, several sheep were killed and others badly injured in the Mass Rock area.

PSNI Chief Inspector Roy Robinson said: “There have now been three brutal, senseless attacks on animals in the local area in recent days.

“We would appeal to anyone who has information that could help our investigation to contact officers in Newry on 101.
