Triple win for ACMC at Hull Market

Beeford-based international pig breeding company ACMC Ltd have not lost their local touch. They scooped three wins at Hull Market Christmas show with the best pen of pigs in the whole show, best pen of pork pigs and third prize in the best sow class.

All the pigs came from their Withernwick nucleus unit near Hornsea and were animals not-selected for breeding. The porkers, a pen of five, averaged 66 kg liveweight apiece and were purchased by local butchers.

"Although we apply scientific principles to pig-breeding to ensure the pigs perform well, it's still important that they look right on the hoof, and that seems to have been recognised by the judges at Hull Market," commented ACMC's managing director, Matthew Curtis.
