Two young farmers from Wales have donated £1,000 to the farming charity R.A.B.I.

Bethan Fflur Roberts, Ceredigion YFC Queen, and Dewi Jenkins, Young Farmer of the Year both donated the money.

The pair recently presented a cheque to representatives from R.A.B.I’s Ceredigion committee. The money was raised at a Cymanfa Ganu (Welsh festival of sacred hymns) at Mydroilyn Chapel earlier this year.

Frances Jones, R.A.B.I Ceredigion committee chair, said: “I’d like to thank everyone associated with Ceredigion YFC for this extremely generous donation.

“In 2016, R.A.B.I gave out close to £37k in Ceredigion and it’s wonderful to be acknowledged and supported by our young farmers.”

Linda Jones, R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, added: “The Cymanfa at Mydroilyn was a fantastic evening of community singing led by the young farmers.

“As a charity, we rely heavily on donations and community support and in 2017 we’ve already given out around £15k in Ceredigion, helping 25 individuals and families.”

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I.) is a welfare charity which helps to change farmers' lives for the better.
