The Lincolnshire Young Farmers county chairman is seeking a match for a kidney transplant whilst raising donations for charity.

23-year-old farmer Matt Denby, from Alford is seeking his own match for the kidney operation. He has received five serious offers from other young farmers.

Whilst doing so, he is raising money for the charity Kidney Research UK. He seeks to raise over £15,000.

Matt, who will need a transplant in the next couple of months, told Louth Leader: “I’m not at a critical stage of total kidney failure or needing dialysis yet.

“The plan is to hopefully have the transplant from a living donor before I need dialysis.”

Matt is now organising a dinner and dance with the aim of raising money through a raffle and auction.

It includes a three-day holiday on a private yacht and a bottle of whisky signed by the Prime Minister Theresa May MP among the auction lots.

On the JustGiving page it says: "I've had a fantastic response from friends who are booking tables for the ball however, some already have plans for the evening but would like to make a donation. Therefore I've set this page up for direct and secure donations straight to Kidney Research UK."

Anyone interested in buying tickets should contact social@lincsyfc.org.uk by Saturday (April 7), or donate to the fundraiser by visiting:www.justgiving.com/fundraising/matthewdenby.
