Farming charity owners sue woman for $750,000 in defamation claim

The founders of embattled farming charity Aussie Helpers have filed a $750,000 defamation claim against a Melbourne businesswoman they say is tarnishing their reputation by spreading untruths about how they allocate drought funds.
Brian Egan, his wife Nerida, and their daughter Samantha Price, filed the legal claim against Kara Taylor in the District Court of Queensland in December last year.
According to the Statement of Claim, a copy of which has been seen by, the Egans and Ms Price assert Ms Taylor published a series of Facebook posts between August 13, 2018 and September 9, 2018 that allege, among other things, they misused charity funds.
