Course overview
This course provides training for the Hand Held Pesticide Applicator test leading to the certificate of competence under Pesticide Regulations if required. Subjects covered include: sprayer preparation, safety, calibration, operation, sprayer decontamination, maintenance and storage.

Pesticide Application PA1 - Safe Use of Pesticides (0216 - 49).

    Pen and paper
    Due to Covid-19 please bring your own food and beverages as we are unable to provide these.

    Suitable wellington boots, type 5/6 coverall and nitrile gloves as you will be required to wear them for the course. If you do not have these we can supply coverall's and gloves at an additional cost. Please let the centre know if you will be hiring equipment ahead of time.

    You may also bring your own knapsack sprayer (as long as it is not contaminated), which can be used for the calibration exercise.

    PLEASE NOTE: If you require the PA6AW training & Assessment (Spraying near Aquatic Water) please contact the centre as this will incur an additional cost

    Course Assessment Method

    NPTC (National Proficiency Tests Council) Certificate of Competence under the Pesticide Regulations. The external assessment will take place at the Rural Innovation Centre on a separate date - to be confirmed on the day of your training. The assessment will last approximately 2 hours. Please be prepared to travel back to the centre.
