L******* Estates is a family-owned arable farming business based seven miles north of Lincoln, with approximately 5,300 acres under management. In addition to arable farming, we have over 240 acres of mixed woodland, a diverse environmental stewardship scheme across the estate, horse paddocks and grazing land for livestock.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Estate Groundsman to join our team. The successful applicant will work closely with both the farming and estate management teams to maintain and enhance the estate grounds, woodland, and surrounding environment. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a proactive approach who takes pride in delivering quality work, supported by the use of high-quality machinery and tools. The emphasis of the required candidate will be general estate maintenance worker rather than forestry.
Estate Maintenance
•Weed control on hard standings, yards, tracks and paths
•Clearing and maintaining public rights of way
•Ground clearing and tidying for larger projects
•Grass cutting and strimming
•Upkeep and repair of fences
•External property maintenance for vacant residential properties
•Supporting wider farm operations as needed
Forestry
•Felling dead or dangerous trees
•thinning and re-stocking woodland areas on small areas
•Planting, crown lifting and removal of fallen trees
•Firewood collection
•Hedgerow management, to include gapping up, and manually cutting any non-agricultural hedgerows.
