The role consists of all aspects of yard work related to a large dairy herd, including but not limited to; scraping and bedding cubicles, bedding straw yards and calf hutches, chopping straw using a tub grinder, rolling wheat and barley for feed, unloading feed into silos with a blower and helping to load the feeder wagon at the second unit.
There will also be the opportunity to carry out grazing maintenance work in the spring and help with silage and straw carting.
This is an ideal role for someone who wishes to gain more experience of working with machinery around a livestock system and can provide a good base to further a machinery based career.
