The body of a man found in woodland last month has been confirmed as that of a missing farmer.

Andrew Green, 33, had been missing since June last year.

A body was found near to where he was last seen, at his home in Yew Tree Farm, in Chorley, Shropshire on March 10.

Hundreds of people helped search for Green, who had been going through a relationship breakdown.

After his disappearance, his parents were "overwhelmed" by offers of help to bring in their harvest.

A post on the Missing Andrew Green Facebook page said: "Good Evening Ladies and Gentleman, with a very heavy heart and great sadness, DNA results have confirmed that the male found on the 10/3/17 is Andrew, Official Formal Conformation will take place at the opening of the official inquest, Julie Edward and Andrews sisters Sam and Nicola send you their thanks and gratitude for the support and help you have all given whilst Andrew was missing from home."

An inquest into his death will be opened on 25 April, West Mercia Police said.
