Actor Brian Blessed launched an expletive-laden rant directed at badger culling to a roomful of 200 people during a pig and poultry dinner in Warwickshire.

The 81-year-old actor, also known for his animal welfare campaigning, was asked what laws he would bring in if he was ruling monarch.

Mr Blessed responded that he would ban farmers culling badgers. Some members of the audience then started booing, according to The Sun.

Mr Blessed reportedly responded to the boos with an expletive-laden tirade: “You’re all c****, I hope you all die of TB,” the paper reported.

He then said it had been a bad idea for him to host the farmers’ event, and left. The actor had been booked by Peterborough-based farm business ABN to host the dinner.

“Brian used the C word before flouncing out,” one guest said, according to The Sun. “His views on animal welfare are well known and he wasn’t going to back down even in a room full of farmers.”

Mr Blessed's agent Stephen Gittins, responded: “It’s well known he is a protector of badgers. Brian and the likes of Brian May are very supportive of ending the culls."

In the past, he has campaigned against badger culling and other animal welfare issues. He has previously joined with Queen's Brian May to produce a song called 'Save the Badger Badger Badger', released in 2013.
