Four people who were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the investigation to trace missing farmer William Taylor have been re-bailed.

Three men, aged 18, 22 and 53, and a 52-year-old woman, all from Hitchin, have been re-bailed until Monday, December 3.

William ‘Bill’ Taylor was last seen at around 9pm on Sunday June 3 at his farm in Gosmore, North Hertfordshire.

Since going missing, he has turned 70 years old – a milestone birthday that he has not been able to celebrate with his family.

Search efforts during the past few months have been described as "difficult" due to this summer's heatwave and the height of crops in nearby farmland.

In September, police arrested the three men and woman on suspicion of murder.

They were also arrested on suspicion of arson and conspiracy to commit arson in connection with a vehicle fire at Mr Taylor's home which was reported to police on 27th May.

The investigation is being led by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit and enquiries are continuing.
