NFU Cymru will be showing its support for the National Eisteddfod by sponsoring one of the event’s most prestigious competitions.

An eisteddfod is a Welsh festival of literature, music and performance.

A sponsorship of £1,500 has been given to the National Eisteddfod to help fund the Brass Band competition, which will be taking place this Saturday, 30 July.

Speaking ahead of the Eisteddfod, Monmouthshire NFU Cymru County Chairman, Gary Yeomans said, "NFU Cymru members in the county were keen to show their support for the pinnacle cultural event, which is being held on home soil this year.

"The activities of this cultural festival are a great contributor to rural life and NFU Cymru is delighted to be able to sponsor one of the most prestigious competitions – the Brass Band competition.

"With the success of our Back Welsh Farming big bale sticker campaign, we have also joined forces with the Eisteddfod to get this message out to the crowds heading to this year’s event, so keep an eye out for our big bales dotted around the Eisteddfod and see how many you can spot."

Gary Yeomans, accompanied by NFU Cymru President, Stephen James, will be attending the Eisteddfod on Saturday to present the prize to the winners of the Brass Band Competition.
