Three sheep have died following a savage dog attack in a field on the Wiltshire and Dorset border.

The incident happened in Semley in the early hours of Saturday morning (September 23).

One of the sheep experienced a heart attack from the consequence of the attack, with another two having to be put down because of severe injuries.

Another three animals - two ewes and a lamb - were left seriously injured and had to be sent to a veterinary professional for help.

The family are emphasising how important it is that dogs are kept on leads around livestock and under control and supervision in the countryside.

Police are investigating what happened in the attack.
