AUSTRALIA ----BOVINE VIROL DIARRHOEA DISEASE CAUSES CONCERN

This disease which has all the symptoms of Jonns Disease (constant diarrhoea ) and the results of Brucelossis (contagious abortion) has been going through herds of cattle in Australia over the last year, with the most serious results. There have been calving rate losses of up to 40pc in recorded herds of cattle.

Known as BVDV, there are vaccinations available but not yet in Australia.

Many farmers will not accept that there is a problem until its to late and Pfizer Animal Health are trying to increase farmers and vets awareness of the problem.

With TB and Brucelossis there are government eradication schemes in place,
