Australia-Holsteins steal the Royal Easter Show.

AUSTRALIA-HOLSTEINS DOMINATE EASTER SHOW.

Holstein cows have made a clean sweep of the interbreed honours at Sydney Royal Show, regaining the top ranking from the Jersey breed with perfect scores in all four judging classes.

Sunday afternoon’s dairy finale provided a sweet victory for Moss Vale’s Murribrook Holstein stud supreme champion senior cow, Durham Robina, who last year was pipped at the post in the interbreed ring, settling for a close third behind the show’s champion Jersey and Ayrshire.

A big crowd saw this year’s Holstein stampede start with a perfect five point win in the juvenile judging, when the young South Coast partnership of Justin Walsh, Matt Warnes and Phil Duncan paraded 15-month-old Diamond Gibson Lily ahead of Jersey juvenille champion, Brunchilli JS Vita.

Jersey competition was pushed into second spot again when the Holstein partnership of Jim Strong and Peter Haertsch at Albion Park, triumphed in the junior interbreed judging with two-year-old Strongbark Allen Candy ahead of the Gavenlock-Polson partnership’s Gold Label Daydream.

The Sowter family’s Murribrook Holstein team paraded the supreme pen of three females ahead of a tight second placed Ayrshire trio from the Eagles partnership at Gooloogong.
