Set amidst splendid, unspolit countryside on the edge of the Ribble Valley, Bent House Farm Cottage provides high quality, comfortable accommodation for those seeking the freedom of a self catering holiday. The cottage is approximately 150 years old and situated on our working family farm on the Lancashire - Yorkshire border with views over open countryside towards Pendle, Boulsworth and Skipton Fell.
For a peaceful, relaxing self catering holiday, with excellent walking and cycle routes right on the doorstep, Bent House Holiday Cottage makes an ideal place from which to explore the Ribble Valley,Yorkshire Dales, Pendle Hill and surrounding countryside. The cottage also makes an ideal base for a Dales climbing or caving expedition. We have a silver award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme for the measures we have taken to promote wildlife, make the cottage eco friendly and help our guests enjoy our wonderfully countryside.
The Cottage is situated just outside the small village of Tosside, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Settle is our closest market town. Within 30 minutes drive you can head towards Clitheroe and all that the Ribble Valley can offer or you could go to Skipton, the Gateway to the Dales. Hawes, and Kirby Lonsdale are within easy reach. The Lake District is about an hour away and the cities of Preston, Manchester, Leeds and York are all within just an hour and a half's drive.
The lovely Gisburn Forest with it's walks, cycle routes and pony trails is just minutes away and Stocks Reservoir which offers great fishing and walking in a fantastic setting is within 15 minutes drive.
On the farm we rear calves and lamb our sheep starting in February. We have pedigree Texels, Beltex, Rouge and Zwartbles, as well as goats and chickens.
Children are welcome, but we ask they are closely supervised at all times when outside the property as this is a working farm.
Pets are welcome by arrangement with the owners.
If you wish to bring your horse, we have stabling available for up to four, with hay and straw provided, with DIY livery. Please contact us for more details. We are very close to Gisburn Forest and the Settle loop bridleway.
There is secure storage for bikes and an outside cycle washing area.
