A NEW, more eco-friendly fuel for two-stroke engines is available from Husqvarna
The fuel is said to reduce the output of substances harmful to human health and the environment.
The pre-mixed Aspen 2t fuel mix uses an alkylate petrol which is claimed to contain fewer impurities than conventional petrol.
Alkylate petrol is produced synthetically from the pure gases obtained when refining crude oil.
The result, says Husqvarna, is an extremely pure fuel, free of hazardous substances such as benzene, aromatic hydrocarbons, sulphur and cracked components.
Because of its greater purity, the Aspen 2t fuel/oil mix can be stored longer than ordinary two-stroke fuel.
Impurities do not solidify into the resins that make cold starting difficult in two-stroke engines.
Supplied with a filler pipe that cuts off the flow of fuel when the tank is full and available in five-litre or 25-litre cans, the fuel is priced at £11 for a five-litre can (01453-822382, e-mail info.husqvarna@electrolux.co.uk).
