Agricultural Machinery & Equipment Show

The second Agricultural Machinery & Equipment Show is to take place 2nd February 2011 at The Bath & West Showground. This year the Show will welcome to the HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO, President of The Royal Bath & West of England Society.

Tradestands are rolling in to exhibit at the Show and include JCB Agriculture, Case IH, McHale, Knight Farm Machinery, Fleming Agri Products, Storth Machinery and regular exhibitor John Shepherd Feeders.

Machinery demonstrations will take place every 20 minutes between 10 am and 3.30pm in the Edmund Rack pavilion. Kindly sponsored by Pearce Seeds, demonstrations will include:

Huntsmoor Park Farm - The Broomate Brush

Fleming Agri/Cradock Tractors - Kubota tractor with round bale handler and yardscraper

JCB/Uphill & Son - Materials handler with pallet forks and bale squeeze


Returning to the Show to stage the popular Tractor Stripping Competition are Wiltshire Lackham College and Bicton College. The teams will strip the tractors against the clock and the fastest wins.

Students and young people will be welcome to see what land based opportunities there are in the Land Based Careers Fair. The Fair will give information on the varied employment that is on offer not only in agriculture but throughout the rural community. This can range from hands on work with animals to financial advice and services. Colleges include Sparsholt, Bridgwater and Kingston Maurward as well as other sources of advice such as Shepton Vets.

Seminars will take place throughout the day including Agri-Energy talks from Eco Angus, Soltrac, Farming Futures and Old Mill with advice and information from supergasification to overall renewable technologies.

Xtreme Off road will be running throughout the Show, Off road rides on the Xtreme Off Road course for a £5 charge (Passenger Only).

The Show will announce the winner of the new South West Agricultural Mechanic of the Year and the presentation will take place at 2.00pm.

The entire Show is undercover and admission to the event is Free. Opening time of the Show is 8.30am-4pm Wednesday 2nd February.
