ALLTECH STRENGTHENS POULTRY SECTOR CREDENTIALS
> WITH APPOINTMENT OF UK-BASED TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
Feed supplements specialist Alltech has appointed Dr Wendy Wakeman as UK poultry technical manager, strengthening its position within what has been one of its biggest growth sectors of recent years.
Dr Wakeman has 20 years feed industry experience, most recently as a poultry nutrition specialist with Roche Vitamins and previously with BOCM Pauls. She has also recently completed a Nottingham University PhD, investigating the impact of varying nutritional regimes on broiler carcass composition.
Reporting to Alltech UK managing director Jem Clay and based at Stamford in Lincolnshire, Dr Wakeman will develop direct business relationships with key customers and also provide technical support to the existing sales and marketing team. She will have responsibility for all poultry sector brands in Alltech's range, including the natural performance enhancer Bio-Mos, the organic selenium supplement Sel-Plex, the Bioplex range of organic minerals, and the natural mycotoxin binder Mycosorb. In addition, Dr Wakeman will be part of Alltech's international poultry team and will have an involvement in new product development for the sector.
Growth in Alltech's poultry sector business in the UK and worldwide has been a significant factor in global expansion that now sees the company forecasting total sales of $200 million in 2003.
