ARGENTINA-MEETING WITH NEW US ADMINISTRALTION.WASHINGTON — After meeting with US State Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana yesterday said that "this is a good opportunity to broaden the bilateral relation... to give it a new impulse," and emphasized the new US administration’s "positive" attitude toward the region.
Taiana and Clinton met yesterday at the US State Department in Washington.
"It’s wonderful to have the foreign minister from Argentina here today," Clinton said moments before the meeting started. "This is the third time we’ve gotten together in less than a week, first in London and then yesterday at the Antarctica Consultative Meeting. And now we have a chance to discuss all of our bilateral issues and issues of regional and global concern," she added.
The officials met at the G20 summit that took place in London last week and at the 32nd annual Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.
