ARGENTINA-CATTLE YARDS EMPTY.

Argentina’s farmers continued to block roads across much of the country Tuesday, sporadically letting traffic to flow after ensuring that no trucks loaded with grains or live cattle were moving in violation of a nationwide farm strike. A one-week strike was launched Friday to protest grain export taxes.

There were 200 cattle on offer in Mercado de Liniers on Monday as opposed to the normal 8,000 head and the yards were empty on Tuesday.

Meat is short in the butchers shops, however with Tuesday being a national holiday there is no panic at this stage or alarm that meat will run out.
