ARGENTINA-President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner yesterday said that the State cannot tax those who "can barely get a job" but "the people with the highest tax-paying capacity."
In what political analysts considered a new attack directed at the farmers’ associations who demand from the government a reduction in export duties, Fernández de Kirchner added she was looking forward to the day "in which the men and women involved in politics could get rid of their pettiness, weakness and vanity." She presided over a public rally in Los Menucos, a little village in Río Negro province to inaugurate a new stretch of Road 23 in the company of her husband Néstor Kirchner and the Radical Governor Miguel Saiz.
