Australia-Brewers grain imported.

AUSTRALIA.

BREWERS GRAIN IMPORTED.

In the months of June and July, when commodity prices were going through the roof, it was agreed by the government of Australia, to allow the import of brewers grain into the country for the first time, in order to reduce costs for pig, poultry and cattle farmers.

There had been negotiations going on for the last five years culminating in the first two container arriving in Australia last week.

The consignment is being carefully monitored by the Australian Quarantine Service, in keeping with new guidelines set out for the purpose.

Stock feed pellets that have been made from brewers grain, will now be tried on Australian cattle, in conjunction with the feed manufacturer that arranged he import.

This could have very valuable long term effects on Australian farming, that is very prone to drought.
