Australia-Demand for pork the best in years.

AUSTRALIA.

PORK TRADE BEST IN 15 YEARS.

How things have turned around in the Australian pork industry as this time last year, farmers were losing $40 for every pig they produced.

Today there are record sales price at the live auctions, with the best trade in 15 years comparatively speaking, according to leading industry players.

Porkers in the live auctions were making AU$3.30 to $3.60 per kilo, with bacon pigs AU$3.20 to $3.50 per kilo.

There is nothing selling for under AU$3 per kilo.

The supply is short and demand good, especially in the large Vietnamese and Chinese communities coming up to the Chinese New Year.
