Australia-Poultry merger needs government approval.

POULTRY TAKEOVER STILL CAUSING CONCERN.

The sale of the family owned second largest poultry processor in Australia, could still be blocked by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) according to sources at the company.

Bartter Enterprises owner of the Steggles brand and employer of over 4,500 people, is the second largest producer and processor of chicken and turkey products in Australia.

The family giant Inghams Poultry, is the counties largest chicken group employing over 7,500 satff.

Biaida who are trying to acquire the Bartter Steggles brand is currently the thirds largest and another family operated business. The three companies hold 65% of market share.

The submission to the ACCC are being made on January 27, a decision will be handed down on February 11.
