Barenbrug's cropvale site praised by Wynnstay

Barenbrug’s Cropvale trials site has been praised by agricultural merchant Wynnstay.

Ben Wixey, who heads up the company’s grass seed division, was recently shown around the Worcestershire site by the specialist grass seed breeder’s agricultural product manager David Long.

Ben was full of praise for Cropvale – which enables Barenbrug to trial new and innovative grasses specific to UK conditions – following his visit. "My visit was very helpful," he enthuses. "It was a good opportunity to see how the different mixtures, species and, in particular, individual varieties are performing. I was especially impressed with the site’s demo plots of the new mixtures and blends of species."

Ben believes Cropvale is vital to the future of the UK grass seed industry. "Cropvale certainly shows Barenbrug’s commitment to and investment in the future of grass seed. It’s a very professional set-up and I would encourage fellow grass seed professionals to go along for a visit – Wynnstay is heavily involved in grass and we consider ourselves knowledgeable, but it’s amazing what you pick up on a visit like this."
