A body has been found in the search for the missing 19-year-old farmer James Corfield.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed the body found in Builth Wells on Sunday afternoon was that of James.

A force statement said: "The family have been made aware of the development and are being supported by a family liaison officer."

James Corfield, a farmer's son from Montgomeryshire, had not been seen since he left the White Horse pub in Builth Wells, Powys, early Tuesday morning.

He had been due to meet family at the Royal Welsh showground where he was camping with friends later, but never arrived.

In a statement, his family said: "We will miss James with all our hearts, and are utterly devastated."

The statement continued: "James was very much a farming family guy - farming was his life, and he loved his animals with a passion.

"A visit to the Royal Welsh Show was a real highlight for him - and seeing the sheep and poultry judging was something he really looked forward to.

"He went to the Royal Welsh Show every year throughout his life, and we have fond memories of taking him as a child, which we will always treasure.

"We will miss James with all our hearts, and are utterly devastated. We are very grateful to all the volunteers who helped with the search, and for all the messages of support, but we ask now to be left in privacy."

Speaking on behalf of his family, James' aunt Gill made an emotional plea earlier this week: "We are desperate as a family for any small piece of information that anyone may have regarding his whereabouts.

"We are beside ourselves as a family and are desperate for news. We love you James, please come back safe."

On Saturday, hundreds of people gathered in his hometown of Montgomery to show their support for the family.
