BEEF PUSH TO ASIA.
Last year Singapore imported beef and farm products, to the value of US$285 million from Brazil who supplied 46% of the 12,932 tons on beef imported by Singapore in 2007.
Brazil is now pushing for a larger share of this market, this week saw prices being discounted for the region.
This year exports from Brazil have already past the figure of 2007, Ceclio Brovino Portion of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, said, " Brazilian agricultural products in Singapore will increase and a greater variety of foodstuffs will be available from Brazil, we are meeting importers and exporters to expand this trade".
The Minister last week spent 3 days in Singapore, where he expects the exports to reach US$500 million by the year 2010.
Brazil have lowered beef prices to Singapore by 12%, in the last three weeks
